Job Opportunity: Emergency Room Registered Nurse (Nights)

Location: Saint Louis, Missouri
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: Nights (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
• Patient Ratio: 1:4
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week (3 shifts of 12 hours)
• Weekend Requirement: Every 3rd weekend
• Floating: Floating within scope to meet facility needs is required
• Local Radius Rule: 75 miles
• Pending License Accepted: Yes
• First-time Travelers: Not accepted

Required Experience & Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Missouri
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, including experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Required Certifications

• ACLS issued by American Heart Association
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• PALS issued by American Heart Association or ENPC
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification

Licensure

• Must have an active Registered Nurse license valid in Missouri
• Missouri licenses must be verified via NURSYS
• Temporary licenses accepted with approval
• Must provide primary source verification of professional license

Compliance & Background Requirements

• Government-issued ID required
• Criminal background check within 6 months (7-year search including statewide, nationwide, and international if applicable)
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required quarterly
• Education verification of highest nursing degree required
• State-specific searches and abuse registry checks as applicable
• Fingerprinting required for certain Illinois long-term care or rehab assignments (not required for Missouri)
• Drug testing within 1 year of start, must include standard panels and be valid throughout assignment
• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Fit mask testing (N95) required and must be renewed annually
• Immunizations and titers required:

  • Tdap (or declination)
  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 1 year
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella immunity or vaccination/declination
  • Flu vaccination or approved exemption during flu season
• Hepatitis B declination required (vaccination not mandatory)

Additional Requirements

• Two professional references required (supervisors preferred)
• Unit-specific competency exams and skills checklists required and must be updated annually
• Completion of facility-specific orientation modules and compliance education annually
• Review and sign facility policies including HIPAA, confidentiality, latex allergy, hand hygiene, fingernail, and dress code policies prior to start
• Badge photo required (head and shoulders, white background, no obstructions, taken within 6 months of start)
