Registered Nurse - ER

Location: Big Spring, Texas
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Start Date: 4/20 or 5/4


Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Texas
  • Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department (ED) experience within the last year
  • Certifications (issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross):
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
    • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure)
    • CHEMO certification
    • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
    • EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring)
    • ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course)
  • Tech Certification Verification - National
  • NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement
  • Acknowledgement of Pass/Fail Testing (includes EKG and Medication Administration)
  • State License Verification (including NURSYS verification)

Required Documents & Compliance

  • Government Issued Photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
  • Social Security Card
  • I9 or Attestation
  • E-Verify or Attestation
  • Photo for badge (passport-style with solid background)
  • Facility-specific forms including:
    • Health Record Form
    • Code of Conduct and Compliance Form
    • Confidentiality Statement Form
    • Information System Security Agreement Form
    • Non-Employee Orientation Update Form
    • Traveler Orientation
    • Vaccine Exemption Form (if applicable)
    • Hepatitis B Declination (if no positive titer on file)
  • Physical Exam within 1 year of start (must be completed within 72 hours of contract signing)
  • Fit Test within 6 months prior to start (annual updates required)
  • Immunizations and Titers (must be completed within 72 hours of contract signing):
    • TDAP (Tetanus/Diphtheria/Pertussis) within 10 years
    • Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray (QGold, TSpot, or 2 PPDs within 1 year)
    • Rubeola (Measles) – positive titer or 2 vaccines; boosters if negative/equivocal
    • Mumps – positive titer or 2 vaccines; boosters if negative/equivocal
    • Rubella – positive titer or 2 vaccines; boosters if negative/equivocal
    • Hepatitis B – positive titer or series with declination form if applicable
    • Varicella – positive titer, 2 vaccines, or proof of disease; boosters if negative/equivocal
    • Flu Seasonal Vaccination or facility-specific declination during flu season (10/31-3/31)
    • COVID initial series required; boosters not required
  • Drug Testing within 30 days (includes multiple substances; instant acceptable)

Additional Requirements

  • 2 professional references within 3 years of start
  • Resume or employment application copy
  • Skills checklist updated annually
  • Background checks including EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG within 30 days of start

Notes

  • Legal name must match exactly on all license documentation, IDs, social security card, and certifications. Proof of name change alone is not sufficient.
  • Some certifications and requirements may be waived or accepted on a case-by-case basis; consult recruiter or compliance lead as needed.
