Job Details
- Unit: Telemetry (Nights)
- Patient Ratios: 1:5-6
- Experience Required: Minimum 2 years
- First-time Travelers: Accepted
- Weekend Requirement: 6 weekend shifts within a 6-week period
- On-call: Not required
- Floating: Yes, within scope to meet facility needs
- Block Schedule: Not accommodated
- Local Radius Rule: 75 miles (locals not accepted)
- Pending License: Accepted
- Return to Origin (RTO) Restrictions: 7 days
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week (3 shifts of 12 hours)
Certifications Required
- Required:
- BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support)
- NIH Stroke Certification (required for all nurses)
- Preferred:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) or MAB (Management of Assaultive Behavior) if applicable
Special Requirements
- Telemetry skills including reading rhythms
- Experience with cardiac medications and drips (no titration)
- Dress code: No artificial or nail enhancements, no Crocs with holes, blue uniform required
- Must work weekends and holidays

- Government-issued ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
- Criminal Background Check (7-year search, statewide and nationwide as applicable)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks (quarterly updates required)
- Education Verification (highest nursing education)
- State-specific background checks (Missouri and Illinois as applicable)
- Professional license primary source verification (NURSYS for Missouri licenses)
- Drug Testing (within 1 year, must include specific panels)
- Physical Exam (within 1 year)
- Fit Mask Testing (annual, N95 required; PAPR not available)
- Immunizations and Health Screenings:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (required, expires every 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray (2 negative PPDs or equivalent)
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella immunity or vaccination/declination
- Seasonal Flu Vaccination or approved exemption (required during flu season)
- HIPAA Acknowledgement, Latex Allergy Questionnaire, Confidentiality Form, Hand Hygiene Policy, Fingernail Policy, Dress Code Policy (all must be reviewed and signed prior to start)
- Employment Application and Unit-Specific Skills Checklist (within 1 year)
- Competency Exams (medication/pharmacology and unit-specific, updated annually)
Additional Notes
- Candidates must adhere strictly to dress code and grooming policies or risk being sent home.
- Floating may be required within the facility’s scope.
- No block scheduling available; weekend shifts are mandatory.
- Locals within 75 miles are not accepted for this travel position.
- Pending licenses are accepted, but all license verifications must be completed prior to start.
- Background checks and certifications must be current and compliant with facility and state requirements.
This position is ideal for experienced telemetry RNs who are comfortable with night shifts, weekend work, and working in an acute care hospital setting with cardiac patients.
