Registered Nurse - Emergency Department

Location: Utica, New York
Shift: Night (6:30 PM - 7:00 AM)
Hours per Week: 36
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Work in a 64-bed Emergency Department unit, including triage, acute care, super track, trauma, CDU, and psychiatric areas.
• Patient population includes newborns, pediatrics, adults, and geriatric patients.
• Common diagnoses treated: Stroke, Sepsis, Trauma, Myocardial Infarction (MI), Cardiac Arrest, Respiratory Failure.
• Use specialty equipment such as Rapid Infusor and Arctic Sun.
• Floating to other units is required.
• Charge nurse capability is highly preferred.
• Block scheduling is not guaranteed.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience, including some pediatric experience.
• Prior travel experience is required.
• Current active New York RN license.
• Certifications required and must be current and in hand at submission:

  • AHA ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
• Experience with EPIC electronic medical records system.
• Valid driver’s license with address matching demographics.
