Registered Nurse (ICU) - Travel Assignment

Location: Kennewick, Washington
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 6:30 PM – 6:30 AM
Weekly Hours: 36 (every other weekend required)
Call Requirements: None

Unit and Patient Population

Medical ICU, 2nd Floor
14 beds, patient ratio 1:2 (charge nurse free of patients)
Patient types: Sepsis, respiratory issues, some cardiac and trauma cases
Equipment includes occasional use of IABP
Electronic Health Record system: Paragon
Minimal cardiac patients

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington
Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU)
Certifications: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS)
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Additional Information

Must be located more than 60 miles from the facility to qualify as a travel assignment
Team-oriented work environment emphasizing accountability and best practices
No block schedules
Facility serves a broad range of services including ED, Family Medicine, Ortho, OBGYN, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Urgent Care, Lab, and Diagnostic Imaging

Pros

This Cath Lab is only travelers at the moment and has locum doctors on rotation. Some days are very slow but there is also a couple IR doctors who does some easy procedures.

Cons

On call is currently 7 consecutive days on then you get 4 days off before going back on due to number of staff present.
