Registered Nurse - Behavioral Health

Location: Holyoke, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights (7 PM - 7 AM)
Hours per Week: 36 (guaranteed)
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
Call Requirement: None
Float Requirement: Yes

Unit and Patient Population

• Behavioral Health unit covering all floors
• 104 beds across five units: adult, pediatric (ages 5-17), and geriatric
• Patient ratios approximately 1:8, with lower ratios for pediatric and geriatric units
• Patient diagnoses commonly include schizophrenia, depression, bipolar disorder, substance use disorder, and anxiety
• Must be willing to work with both adult and pediatric populations

Job Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect patient care using the nursing process: Assessment, Planning, Intervention, and Evaluation
• Develop nursing care plans in coordination with patients, families, and interdisciplinary staff
• Communicate changes in patient clinical condition to physicians, nursing supervisors/managers, and coworkers
• Participate in discharge planning

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts
• Minimum 1 year of Behavioral Health nursing experience, with Behavioral Health experience within the last year
• Experience in an inpatient setting
• BLS certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in behavioral health nursing is preferred
