Contract

• 13 weeks
• 36 hours per week
• 12-hour day shifts

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license
• BLS certification
• ACLS certification
• Minimum 1 year of Med Surg experience
• Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips
• Must pass a dysrhythmia exam within two attempts before signing the contract
• Must be willing to care for both MST and PCU patients
• Must be willing to precept nursing students

Schedule

• Every other weekend
• Holiday rotation
• May be placed on standby during low census
• Must work 12/24 and 12/26

Unit Details

• Med Surg Tele / PCU unit
• 30 beds
• Typical nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:5-6
• Remote monitor techs support telemetry monitoring
• Nurses read telemetry strips
• Care includes stable CPAP and BiPAP patients

Floating

• Float to Multi Care Unit, Pediatric unit, and West Campus Med Surg Tele

Additional Notes

• May be asked to care for adult MST patients while floating
• May be asked to precept nursing students
• Scrubs may be any color except camouflage
