Registered Nurse - Renal Unit

Location

Cincinnati, Ohio

Job Summary

Provide specialized nursing care to patients with kidney disease, including those undergoing kidney transplant.
Care is culturally based and age-specific, following the Ohio Nurse Practice Act and ANA code of ethics.
Work in a 24-bed medical/surgical unit focused on renal patients, including transplant recipients.
Participate in care involving peritoneal dialysis (manual and cycler methods).
Support patients involved in pharmacologic research studies under specialist supervision.
Unit includes remote telemetry monitoring capability for 8 beds.
Care also provided for general medical/surgical patients with common diagnoses.

Contract Length

8 weeks

Shift Details

3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (night shift)
Every third weekend and holiday commitment required
Floating between units required

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Ohio
Minimum of 1 year of nephrology experience within the last year
BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Work Hours

12 hours per day
36 hours per week
