Job Opportunity: CST/ORT - Travel Position

Location: Asheville, North Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Specialty

• Certified Surgical Technician (CST) / Operating Room Technician (ORT)
• Required Specialty Experience: Minimum 2 years
• Prior Travel Experience: Not required

Required Certifications

• Certified Surgical Technician (CST) Certification (mandatory)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)

Experience & Skills

• Cardio-Thoracic experience is mandatory, no exceptions
• Critical Care experience is a must
• PreOp experience is a plus
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-acuity patient area
• Excellent communication skills with interdepartmental teams
• Good critical thinking skills required
• Advanced skills including assisting with arterial line, central line, and epidural placement
• Procedures performed on unit include: large-bore IV starts, chin-to-toe hair removal, medication administration, skin assessment, patient transport to OR, assistance with induction/intubation, positioning, and skin prep

Work Environment

• Unit: Cardiovascular PreOp, 4 beds, 1:1 patient ratio
• Staffing includes RNs, CNC support, secretary, manager (shared with CVOR)
• Equipment: GE Carescape Monitoring, Fuji ultrasound
• Documentation system: Cerner
• Schedule: Monday to Friday, 5:00 AM – 1:30 PM
• On-call: Stay late 1-2 times per week
• Floating: Within scope of practice and experience
• Dress code: Uniform provided
