Progressive Care Unit RN

Overview

• Unit: Progressive Care Unit
• Main building
• 29 beds
• Patient ratio: 4:1
• 36 hours per week
• 13-week contract
• Will accept 48-hour guarantee

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Tennessee
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• PCU - Progressive Care Unit (2 years of experience)
• PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
• Experience in a(n) Critical Care setting
• Cardiac/telemetry experience
• BLS
• ACLS
• IV insertion skills
• Chest tube management
• DHT insertion and management
• Tracheostomy experience
• Central venous catheter (CVC) management

Unit Details

• Heavy cardiac patient population
• CV surgery patients are admitted to PCU after ICU
• Procedures performed on the unit include Foley placement, IV insertion, wound vac management, DKA management, EKGs, DHT/NG placement, patient ambulation, and ADLs
• Floating: travel RNs float first
• Scheduling includes 3 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule, self-scheduling within reason, and block scheduling can be accommodated for night shift
• Navy scrubs required

• Unit secretary coverage on dayshift and 2-3 PCTs depending on census; night shift has 2-3 PCTs depending on census
