Registered Nurse (NICU) - Travel Contract
Location: Austin, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Hours per Week: 36
Unit Overview
- Level 2 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
- 9 beds (can expand to 15 with overflow)
- Staffed by 18 RNs
- Typical patient ratios: 1:2 or 1:3; occasionally 1:1 for high acuity patients awaiting transport
- Equipment includes respiratory support (SiPAP, CPAP, HFNC, LFNC), feeding pumps, and IV support (UVC and PIV)
- Electronic Medical Record system: Meditech
- Dress code: Navy scrubs required
Job Responsibilities
- Assist Neonatal Nurse Practitioners with complex procedures such as surfactant administration, UVC placement, lumbar puncture, needle aspiration of pneumothorax, and circumcision
- Full admission of new NICU patients, including IV starts and lab draws
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- Minimum 1 year of NICU experience

- Delivery experience
