Unit Profile

Department: Operating Room (OR) and Supplies
Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
Call Requirements: Weeknight and weekend call required
Float Requirements: Yes

Patient Care Environment

Trauma Level III facility
Equipment includes robotics, various microscopes, laser, specialty OR tables/beds, navigation system for craniotomy, DaVinci surgical system
Electronic Health Records (EHR): Cerner Surginet & Omnicell

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Maine
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Minimum 2 years of Operating Room (OR) experience, including experience within the last year
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Experience working with Level 1 Trauma patients
Experience in bariatrics, vascular surgery, ENT surgery, OB/GYN, neurology, and orthopedics

Skills and Experience

Must have experience in general OR, trauma, bariatrics, vascular, ENT, gynecology, neurology, and orthopedic cases
Preferred experience with robotics in surgery

Work Environment and Culture

Scrub color provided (navy blue)
Exposure to a variety of surgical specialties including general surgery, orthopedics, neurology, urology, gynecology, bariatrics, ENT, vascular, and robotic-assisted procedures

Additional Information

Facility is a teaching hospital with 24/7 emergency care
Located in a city with access to outdoor recreational activities and cultural amenities
