Registered Nurse - Med Surg (Travel)

Location: Nashville, Tennessee
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 36 (3 shifts of 12 hours each)

Unit Overview

• Unit: 3rd Floor, Neuro Med/Surg
• Beds: 20
• Patient Ratio: 6:1
• Staffing Support: Tech support available day and night shifts; unit secretary on site 7am-7pm
• Equipment: IV Pumps, Telemetry monitors, Sequential Compression Devices (SCDs), Continuous Pulse Oximetry, Feeding Pumps, PCA pumps, EKG machines, bladder scanner, iMobile communication technology
• Documentation System: Meditech
• Scheduling: 3 twelve-hour shifts per week, including 2 weekends (4 shifts) per 4-week schedule
• Floating Policy: Contract staff float first, assigned by rotation when multiple contract staff are scheduled
• Patient Care Expectations: Provide attentive and compassionate care, conduct bedside shift reports, build personal connections with patients and families, involve them in care planning

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Tennessee
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg nursing experience, with experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Work Environment & Additional Information

• Dress Code: Navy scrubs (tops and bottoms) required
• Hospital Certifications: Comprehensive Stroke Center, ACS Verified Level II Trauma Center, Certified Chest Pain Center
• Tech and equipment are current and support quality patient care
• Emphasis on patient experience and compassionate bedside care
