Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Department

Location: Statesboro, Georgia
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights (5 PM – 5 AM)
Hours per Week: 36


Job Summary

  • Provide patient care in the Emergency Department using the Nursing Process in accordance with state Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies.
  • Demonstrate critical thinking, scientific judgment, and leadership to ensure safe patient care delivery.
  • Maintain clinical competencies through continuing education.
  • Delegate patient care priorities based on staff education and experience.
  • Provide direction and supervision to assigned personnel delivering patient care.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to achieve desired patient outcomes.

Unit Details

  • Unit beds: 29 plus 8 hallway beds
  • Patient ratio: 1 nurse to 4 patients
  • EMR system: Cerner
  • Scrub color: Navy
  • Blocked scheduling with efforts to cluster days while meeting weekend requirements
  • No 48-hour weekly guarantees
  • One major and one minor holiday may be required
  • No maximum restrictions on return-to-office (RTO) as long as full-time equivalent (FTE) and weekend requirements are met

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Georgia
  • Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience, including experience within the last year
  • Successful completion of at least 2 previous travel nursing assignments
  • Certifications: ACLS, BLS, and PALS
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Additional Information

  • Position requires night shift coverage with a 12-hour shift (5 PM to 5 AM)
  • Responsible for assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care
  • Responsible for directing and coordinating nursing care based on clinical nursing practices
  • May be required to float to other units as needed

Prior Travel Experience

  • Must have completed at least 2 previous travel assignments successfully
