Job Summary

Seeking a PCU Registered Nurse with experience in a hospital of similar size and acuity. The unit is a combination of Med-Surg and Stepdown with a focus on telemetry patients.

Unit Details

Unit size: 12 beds
Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:4-5 depending on acuity
Common patient diagnoses: Med-Surg conditions, Sickle Cell, heart failure, etc.
Unit type: Combination of Med-Surg and Stepdown (PCU)
Telemetry experience required
RNs titrate set rate drips (no phlebotomy; RNs draw their own labs)
Charge nurse takes an assignment
Nurse aides present with a 12:1 ratio
Respiratory therapy equipment includes nasal cannulas, face masks, BiPAP
No Tele/Monitor Techs on unit; monitoring done remotely
RNs do not read their own telemetry strips

Scheduling & Work Environment

Self-scheduling allowed
Weekend requirement: every other weekend
Holiday work required
No call or standby requirement
No floating required
Dress code: Navy scrubs
Orientation: One day computer skills with knowledge assessment, plus two shifts with preceptor
Shift length: 12-hour night shifts

Required Qualifications

Registered Nurse license appropriate for Georgia
Minimum 2 years of PCU nursing experience with a solid PCU skillset
ACLS and BLS certifications required
Must have successfully completed at least 1 prior travel nursing contract
Experience in a hospital of similar size and acuity required
Must pass clinical resume review for consideration

Strict 100-mile radius rule; local candidates will not be considered
