Job Opportunity: Cath Lab RN
Location: Glendale, California

Contract Length
- 13 weeks
Required Experience
- Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab and Interventional Radiology (IR) nursing experience (higher value taken)
- Prior travel experience preferred (not required)
Required Certifications / Licenses
- Active California RN License
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- COVID Vaccine Required (Certification)
Work Environment & Unit Details
- Unit: Cath Lab and IR (Interventional Radiology)
- 3 suites/labs
- Average 8-10 cases per day
- Mixed lab: procedures include left and right heart catheterizations (diagnostic and interventional), electrophysiology studies, pacemakers, defibrillators, PICC line placement, central lines, Swan-Ganz catheters, pleurovacs, stroke interventions, etc.
- EMR system: Cerner
Job Duties
- Procedure setup and circulation
- Administer procedural sedation
- Monitor patient hemodynamics throughout procedures
- Responsible for hemodynamic monitoring located in control room outside main procedure room; nurse must float between procedure room and control room while maintaining patient visibility
- Work as part of a 3-person Cath/IR lab team
Schedule & Call Requirements
- Shift: 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM (10-hour shifts)
- Evening call required 1-2 times per week (starts after shift ends at ~5 PM)
- Weekend call 1-2 weekends per month (24-hour call from 6:30 AM to 6:30 AM)
- Holiday call: 1 major and 1 minor holiday required
- Call response time: 30 minutes
- 36-hour guaranteed time off (GTE) per week
- Orientation: Up to 2 weeks with another RN; no call rotation until 3rd week
- Floating: None required
- Dress code: Scrubs provided
Additional Notes
- Must be comfortable with the unique workflow of floating between procedure room and control room for hemodynamic monitoring
- Team includes Cath Lab Manager, Charge Nurse, Cath Lab and IR Techs
- Cardiologists and Interventionalists are on 24-hour call
This position is ideal for experienced Cath Lab RNs with strong procedural and hemodynamic monitoring skills who are comfortable working in a fast-paced mixed Cath Lab and IR environment with call responsibilities.
