Interventional Radiology Registered Nurse

Location

Bakersfield, California

Contract Length

13 weeks

Schedule

Day shift
36 hours per week
12-hour shifts
5 days per week
No call required

Required Qualifications

Registered Nurse license
BLS certification
ACLS certification
PALS certification
Experience in Interventional Radiology

Clinical Focus

Assists with imaging-guided invasive procedures
Supports sedation and patient monitoring
Works with radiology-related procedures including paracentesis, thoracentesis, biopsies, and drainage
Cares for inpatient and outpatient patients across pediatric to geriatric populations

Responsibilities

Assists the Interventional Radiologist during procedures
Coordinates the IR physician schedule
Collaborates with floor nurses and imaging staff
Places peripheral IVs
May assist with pacers
Does not scrub in
May occasionally wear sterile gloves to hold pressure

Work Environment

Cases vary, averaging 8–10 per day
Supports CT, ultrasound, X-ray, MRI, and nuclear medicine areas
On-site leadership is available on weekdays
Nurses rotate charge assignments

Orientation

Department orientation provided
3–4 different shifts for RN orientation, all day shifts
