Job Opportunity: Neuro Tele RN - Chandler Regional Medical Center, Chandler, AZ

Unit and Facility

Unit: D4 Neuro Telemetry
Facility: Chandler Regional Medical Center
Location: Chandler, Arizona
Unit Size: 28 beds
Patient Ratios: 1 nurse to 3-4 patients
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
Shift Length: 12-hour shifts (7 AM - 7 PM)
Scrub Color: Navy

Patient Population and Care

Common Diagnoses: Neuro post-surgical, post-craniotomy, spine cases, CVAs post TPA
No ICP monitoring required
Centralized telemetry; RNs must be able to interpret EKGs
Ventilator patients: No
Hospitalist coverage: Hospitalist rounds during the day and on-call at night
Respiratory Therapist: Available 24/7
Pharmacy: Available 24/7
IV Team: Not available
Tech Support: Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) at a ratio of 1 per 16 patients

Orientation and Training

Floor-specific orientation: 2 days
Day 1 of orientation includes a pass/fail exam focused on sterile field techniques (study materials provided)
Travelers must pass a dysrhythmia exam within 48 hours of offer (max 2 attempts)

Requirements and Certifications

Minimum 2 years recent experience (within past 6 months)
Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
COVID-19 vaccine required or approved religious/medical exemption with documentation

Staffing and Leadership

Charge Nurse present (no patient assignment)
Clinical Supervisor in a management role

This position is ideal for experienced neuro telemetry nurses comfortable with EKG interpretation and working in a fast-paced neuro unit with a focus on post-surgical and stroke patients.
