Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Post Acute Long-Term Care

Location: Lewiston, Maine
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Days (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)

Job Summary

• Provide direct and indirect nursing care in a therapeutic environment for residents in long-term care and rehabilitation units.
• Units include:

  • Specialized Dementia Unit: Care for residents with Alzheimer’s/dementia using verbal and non-verbal communication techniques tailored to their needs.
  • Transitional Rehabilitation Unit: Short-term skilled nursing and rehab for patients recovering from fractures, joint replacements, stroke, and other conditions; nursing duties may include IV therapy, wound care, and geriatric assessment.
  • Long-Term Care Unit: Care for residents needing long-term placement in a home-like environment.
• Flexibility to float between units as needed.
• Coverage required 24/7 with strong teamwork and communication skills.

Required Qualifications

• Valid LPN/LVN license in the State of Maine
• Minimum of 2 years of Long Term Care experience, including experience within the last year
• Associate’s degree in Nursing

Additional Information

• Candidates with prior licensure issues will not be considered.
• Previous employees are not eligible.
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility.
• Up to 16 hours of orientation is unpaid.
• The employer reserves the right to cancel up to 3 shifts during the 13-week contract.
