Registered Nurse – Wound Care
Location: Brooklyn, New York
Employment Type: Staffing - Supplier Sourced
Contract Length: 14 weeks (96 days ≈ 14 weeks)
Job Summary
Provide safe, competent, quality nursing care focused on wound, ostomy, and continence management under the supervision of the Wound and Ostomy Manager.
Responsibilities
- Conduct health assessments related to wound, ostomy, and continence care.
- Perform focused physical assessments and develop individualized plans of care.
- Recommend appropriate treatments and evaluate patient responses to wound care, ostomy, continence, fistula, and complex wound treatments.
- Assist in developing, revising, and evaluating standards of care.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team and make referrals as needed.
- Educate and counsel patients and families on prevention of complications related to wounds, ostomies, and continence issues.
- Provide comprehensive assessments for patients at risk of pressure injuries and initiate preventative measures.
- Participate in quality improvement activities, including incidence and prevalence studies and nursing quality initiatives.
- Deliver culturally competent education to patients, families, and staff.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of patient data.
Shift Details
- Day shift, 5 days a week, 8 hours per day
- Occasional holiday and/or weekend hours
- Flexible hours to support patient-centered care
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York
- Wound Care Certification
- Minimum of 1 year of wound care experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
