Surgical Tech II

Schedule

• Rotating shift
• 10 hours per day
• 40 hours per week
• On-call required
• Some weekends and nights possible
• Start times rotate between 0645, 0900, and 1045

Required Qualifications

• Surgical Technologist (2 years of experience)
• Surgical Technologist experience within the last year
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• Completion of an accredited surgical technology program or formal surgical program through military service

Key Responsibilities

• Assist surgeons during a variety of surgical procedures, including complex cases
• Prepare instruments, materials, and the surgical field for procedures
• Pass instruments, supplies, and equipment during surgery
• Perform surgical counts with the circulating nurse
• Maintain aseptic technique and correct breaks in technique
• Handle specimens and medications according to policy
• Support room turnover, equipment checks, and sterilization/disinfection preparation
• Assist with patient transport and safe restraint of combative patients
