Registered Nurse - Emergency Room (12-hour Night Shift, Travel Assignment)

Location: Port Huron, Michigan
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (approximately 9 weeks)
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (12-hour night shift)

Job Summary

Provide safe, direct patient care in the Emergency Department using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation).
Responsible and accountable for patient care and communication with physicians regarding clinical changes and diagnostic results.
Guide patient/family teaching and supervise other nursing personnel while maintaining professional nursing standards in Telemetry.
Respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition or treatment response.
Knowledgeable about EMTALA regulations and mandatory reporting of abuse to appropriate agencies.
Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality at all times.

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Michigan.
Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, with at least some experience within the last year.
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or Red Cross.
Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or Red Cross.
Workplace Violence Prevention certification (DCI/BVP).
