Travel RN - Medical/Surgical Telemetry

Location: Cooperstown, New York
Contract Length: 12 weeks

Job Description

• Provide comprehensive care for patients with medical, surgical, and telemetry needs.
• Work in Med/Surg Telemetry units (Med 2 and Med 3).
• Med 2: 24 beds, combined med/surg and stroke unit specializing in stroke patient monitoring and support.
• Med 3: 34 beds, general med/surg telemetry unit.
• Typical nurse-to-patient ratio: 6:1.
• Patient population includes GI issues, cardiac conditions, renal conditions, confusion, and altered mental status.
• High-acuity setting requiring ability to manage complex care demands.

Required Qualifications

• Current RN license valid in New York.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Strong foundation in medical/surgical nursing.
• Skilled in telemetry monitoring.
• Completion of skills checklist and competency exams as required by the facility.
• Required health screenings and immunizations including MMR, Hepatitis B, Influenza vaccine, TB test, Varicella, and others.
• Background checks, drug screening, and professional references required.

Experience Requirements

• Specialty: RN Medical/Surgical Telemetry.
• Minimum years of experience: Not explicitly stated; assume at least 2 years in med/surg telemetry nursing based on specialty complexity.
