Registered Nurse - Telemetry

Location: Salem, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Work on a 41-bed Medical Telemetry Unit.
• Rotating shifts required for day positions (7a-7p, 11a-11p, 7p-7a); night positions are straight nights.
• Must be able to read telemetry strips.
• Floating to applicable units as needed.
• Patient population includes cardiac, respiratory, metabolic, psychiatric, substance use disorder, genitourinary, and gastrointestinal cases.
• Clinician-to-patient ratio:

  • Days: 1 to 4/5
  • Evenings & Nights: 1 to 5/6
• Charting system: EPIC.
• On-site parking available.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Massachusetts.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• Minimum 2 years of telemetry experience, including telemetry experience within the last year.
• Experience with cardiac telemetry and cardiac drips.
• Experience with TR bands and high-flow oxygen.
• Cardiology experience.

Health and Compliance Requirements

• Documentation of immunizations and/or proof of immunity for:

  • Measles, mumps, rubella (MMR)
  • Tuberculosis (TB) screening within 3 months of start date (skin test or blood test)
  • Hepatitis B vaccination or immunity preferred
  • Tdap vaccination within 10 years preferred
• Physician health statement within 1 year of start date.
• Criminal background checks, including Massachusetts CORI, national sex offender registry, and exclusion checks, must be current and cleared.
• Education verification required.
• Submission of 2 professional references within 4 years, including at least one supervisor-level reference.
• Completion of skills checklist within 1 year.
• Submission of a current resume including 7 years of work history.

Additional Notes

• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
• Rotating shifts and floating are mandatory.
• Night shifts are straight nights; day shifts rotate.
• No religious or medical exemptions allowed for N95 fit testing.
• No onsite fit testing available; must be completed prior to start.

This position is ideal for experienced telemetry RNs comfortable with cardiac monitoring, rotating shifts, and floating within a medical telemetry unit.
