Job Opportunity: Radiation Therapist

Location: Charleston, South Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Position Details

  • Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
  • Shift: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • On-call: No
  • Weekend Requirement: No weekends
  • Caseload: Varies daily
  • Floating: May be asked to cross cover different treatment machines; no floating to sister facilities

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Radiation Therapist license in South Carolina
  • Minimum 2 years of Radiation Therapist experience, including experience within the last year
  • ARRT certification
  • SCRQSA certification
  • BLS certification

Licensure

  • Must hold an active, unencumbered South Carolina Radiation Therapist license or equivalent as required by the specialty.
  • Primary source verification required.

Additional Requirements

  • Background Checks: Comprehensive background check within 1 year including SSN trace, criminal, sex offender registry, and others.
  • Health Documents:
    • Physical exam updated annually, attesting ability to meet job demands
    • Fit test for N95 mask within 90 days prior to start, renewed annually
    • Immunizations and titers including Tdap, MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella), Varicella, Hepatitis B
    • Negative TB test (T-spot or Q-Gold) within 90 days of start or proof of prior positive with chest x-ray
    • Drug screening (10 panel) within 90 days of start
    • Flu vaccine or medical/religious exemption during flu season
  • Competency Exams: Required as applicable
  • Photo for Badge: Clear, passport-style photo with solid light background, frontal view, business casual attire

Orientation and Onboarding

  • Completion of facility-specific orientation modules prior to start (approximately 2 hours)
  • Upload COVID vaccination records if available; if not, complete vaccination declination form
  • Must complete radiation exposure attestation prior to start

Work Environment

  • Level I Trauma Center, Teaching Facility, Magnet Hospital
  • Charting system: EPIC
  • Parking: Paid parking required nights and weekends only

Notes

  • Locals may be considered on a case-by-case basis
  • Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
