Job Opportunity: Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) / Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Location: Rio Rancho, New Mexico
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 8 weeks

Job Description

• Work in an inpatient hospital and rehabilitation setting (not a nursing home or LTAC).
• Patient stay averages about 14 days.
• Teamwork, positive attitude, and patient-centered care are essential.
• Must be willing to work Fridays and every other weekend (E/O Weekend).
• First-time travelers are accepted.
• Locals are accepted.
• Attire: Any solid color scrubs with close-toed shoes.
• Charting system used: Cerner.
• Free parking available.

Required Qualifications

• Valid LPN / LVN license in New Mexico.
• Minimum 1 year of LPN / LVN experience within the last year.
• Experience in inpatient hospital and rehabilitation settings, including at least 1 year in rehabilitation.
• Experience in Long Term Acute Care (LTAC) is a plus.
• Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License/State ID).
• Emergency contact form prior to start.
• Background checks including 7-year work/location history, sex offender registry, and federal exclusions (updated annually).
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS (preferred), and state license verification.
• Competency exams as applicable (medication/pharmacology).
• Physical exam within 1 year of start date.
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year.
• Immunizations or proof of immunity for:

  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B
  • Varicella (Chickenpox)
• Drug screening (9-panel) within 1 year of start.
• Seasonal flu vaccination or facility-specific declination during flu season (10/1–3/31).
• COVID-19 vaccination preferred (no declination required).
• New Mexico fingerprinting required prior to start (can be completed in or out of state).
• Two professional references required for travel or acute care roles.
