Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Nurse (Registered Nurse)

Location: Oxford, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Specialty: Registered Nurse (Labor and Delivery / OB)
  • Shift: Day shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
  • Schedule: Every other weekend required
  • EMR System: MEDITECH (experience not required)

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery nursing experience
  • Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
  • Certifications required prior to start and must be maintained throughout assignment:
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
    • EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring)

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

  • Background check: 7-year criminal history, education verification, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG checks
  • Drug screening: 9-panel drug test within last 12 months (instant acceptable)
  • Immunizations and health screenings:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years or declination accepted)
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 6 months (with annual TB questionnaire if prior positive)
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (positive titer, 2 vaccines, or declination)
    • Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination)
    • Varicella (positive titer, 2 vaccines, or declination)
    • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (required during flu season)
  • Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations
  • Skills checklist updated annually for applicable unit
  • NURSYS license verification required

Additional Requirements

  • Government-issued photo ID must be carried during hours of service
  • Completion of facility-specific online training modules prior to start
  • Facility-specific forms for flu vaccine exemptions (religious or medical) if applicable
  • Attestation forms including I9 and E-Verify compliance

Notes

  • Performance evaluations required if previously worked with the facility for over 1 year
  • Internal evaluations required if employed over 2 years
  • Orientation and safety manual acknowledgment required
