Job Opportunity: Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN)

Location: Anniston, Alabama
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 8 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: Night shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
• Patient Population: Neonates, Infants, Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults, and Geriatrics
• Work Environment: High acuity, high volume ER combining adult and pediatric patients
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:4
• Meal Break: 30-minute lunch required, no skipped meals

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum 1 year recent ER nursing experience required
• Level II Trauma experience preferred
• Skills include:

  • Blood product administration
  • Central line care and management
  • IV starts, continuous IV sedation, IV vasopressors
  • Procedural sedation administration
  • Orthopedic trauma care
  • Identifying and reporting pediatric abuse
  • Managing pediatric near drowning, respiratory infections, and seizures

Required Certifications & Licenses

• Valid RN license in Alabama
• Current BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• ACLS certification
• PALS certification
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification

Requirements/Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Alabama
• Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Health & Compliance Requirements

• Physical exam within 12 months of start
• Negative TB test (Qgold, Tspot, or PPD) within past 12 months; chest X-ray follow-up if positive
• Tdap vaccination or declination within 10 years
• MMR (Rubeola, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
• Hepatitis B series, titer, or declination
• Varicella vaccination, history, or positive titer
• 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
• Annual flu vaccination or declination (mask required if declined)
• Annual TB questionnaire
• Annual skills checklist

Additional Requirements

• Background check within 6 months covering all locations lived/worked in last 7 years
• Education verification (official transcript, diploma, or third-party verification)
• Primary source license verification (NURSYS for RN)
• Compliance with facility-specific attendance policy prior to start

Notes

• Prior travel experience is preferred but not required
• Local candidates within a 60-mile radius are considered
• This position involves working in a combined adult and pediatric ER setting with a high patient acuity level
