Labor and Delivery Nurse

Overview

Travel/contract role in Issaquah, Washington
Night shift: 4x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
Contract length: 26 weeks
First-time travelers accepted
Local candidates accepted at the same rate
May float to postpartum and possibly another labor and delivery unit within the same health system

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Washington
Labor and Delivery (2 years of experience)
Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
BLS issued by American Heart Association or Heart and Stroke Foundation
NRP
FHM
AWHONN Intermediate
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Experience with Epic

Preferred

ACLS

Unit Details

Labor and preterm labor patient population
8 labor rooms and 4 triage rooms
Core responsibilities include circulating, OB-GYN, post-op, pre-op, scrub, low-risk antepartum, and low-risk labor and delivery
Staffing ratio: 1:1 to 1:3

Procedures and Skills

Blood and blood product administration
Cardioversion/defibrillation
Cooling/warming blanket use
Drain management
Epidural pumps, PCA pumps, and syringe pumps
Wound vac care
Heparin, insulin, and magnesium sulfate administration
Attends all deliveries, including high-risk deliveries
GYN surgeries, couplet care, low-risk antepartum, and transition nursery support
