Telemetry Nurse

Job Overview

• Travel/contract role in Hazard, Kentucky
• 13-week assignment
• Night shift
• 36 hours per week
• Local candidates only; must live within 75 miles of the facility
• Extension will not be approved

Unit Details

• Medical-surgical telemetry short-stay unit
• Nurse will care for medical-surgical telemetry and observation patients

Required Qualifications

• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Valid RN license in Kentucky
• Telemetry (2 years of experience)
• Telemetry experience within the last year
• ACLS issued by American Heart Association
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• NIHSS
• Driver's License

Schedule and Work Expectations

• Float within scope of practice required
• Every other weekend required
• Block scheduling cannot be accommodated

Health and Compliance Requirements

• Flu vaccination required; declinations are not accepted
• Medical and religious flu exemptions may be considered on a case-by-case basis
• Driver’s license and matching address documentation are required for submission
• Physical exam or physician note showing clear to work, free of restrictions, within 1 year of start
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start
• Tdap within 10 years
• Proof of immunity or vaccination for measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, and hepatitis B
• Drug screening required within 30 days of start
• 2 references within 1 year of start
• 7-year work history verification
• Background check and education verification required
• Skills checklist required annually
• Kentucky vulnerable adult maltreatment registry check required
• Orientation safety manual acknowledgement required
• Medication test/pharmacology competency exam required
• Core Part I, Core Part II, and Core Part III required
• Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required within 1 year of start
• Employment application/resume with education and work history required

• Float and staffing ratios may vary based on census and call-ins

• Fit mask testing is completed onsite
• PAPR use cannot be accommodated due to facial hair
