Overview

  • Travel/contract RN position in Columbia, South Carolina
  • 13-week assignment
  • Night shift: 3x12s, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
  • Patient ratio: 1:5
  • Every other weekend required
  • On-call required, but rare; if needed, it is for the first 4 hours
  • May need to float within scope to meet facility needs, including between like units/sister facilities
  • First-time travelers accepted
  • Local candidates accepted on a case-by-case basis if within 60 miles

Required Qualifications

  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Valid RN license in South Carolina
  • Med Surg / Telemetry (2 years of experience)
  • Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • ACLS issued by American Heart Association
  • PALS issued by American Heart Association
  • Experience with Epic

Preferred Qualifications

  • NIHSS

Schedule Notes

  • Block scheduling may be considered with manager approval and depending on unit needs

Additional Notes

  • Guaranteed hours may be affected by facility call-offs
  • All requested time off must be submitted at the time of application and is subject to facility approval
  • Candidates should be aware that hurricane season assignments may include emergency response duties from June through November

Compliance / Pre-Start Items

  • Driver’s license or state ID

  • NURSYS verification
  • 2 clinical references, including at least one from the same unit
  • Completed application/resume with all PTO, contract assignments, agency names, and no unaccounted gaps
  • Skills checklist for the applicable unit
  • Physical exam
  • Tdap within 10 years or declination
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray
  • Annual TB questionnaire
  • Measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, and hepatitis B immunity/documentation
  • 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start
  • Respirator safety clearance
  • Annual flu documentation or approved exemption
  • COVID vaccination documentation or declination if not vaccinated
  • Orientation and facility-specific onboarding documents must be completed before start
  • Photo for badge
  • Radiation badge if required by unit
