Job Opportunity: Sterile Processing Tech

Job Details

• Shift: 3x12 hour day shifts (06:45 - 19:15), Friday through Sunday
• Start Date: ASAP, any Monday
• Return to Office (RTO): 5 days or less required
• Substitution: Traveler can only sub to one shift at a time

Qualifications

• Required Certifications:

  • CRCST or SBSPD (Sterile Processing Technician Certification)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA required, RQI not accepted
• Experience:

  • Minimum 3 to 5+ years of job-specific experience in Sterile Processing
  • Must be ready to work on the floor quickly and be a self-starter
• Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
• Social Security Number (not the card itself)
• Background Check covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years, including:

  • SSN Trace
  • County, State, Federal, Nationwide, and National Sex Offender searches
  • International searches if applicable
• Certifications verification (HSPA or CBSPD accepted for Sterile Processing Tech)
• State License verification (Primary Source Verification)
• Physical Exam within 1 year of start
• Immunizations and Titers:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (highly preferred or declination)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (QGold, T-SPOT, or 2 PPDs)
  • Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella titers or vaccines with boosters if needed
  • Hepatitis B titer, proof of series, or facility-specific declination
  • Flu vaccine or facility-specific declination (required year-round)
• Drug Testing: 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (instant tests acceptable)
• References: At least two satisfactory references from previous employers within the last year, including evaluation of clinical competency and reliability (manager, supervisor, or charge RN accepted)

Additional Requirements

• Completion of facility-specific modules and trainings after orientation
• Review and sign facility policies including:

  • Code of Conduct
  • Applicant Disclosure Statement
  • Confidentiality Policy
  • Appearance and Dress Code
• Annual CMS Fraud, Waste, and Abuse (FWA) training required
• Competency exams and mandatory OSHA training with minimum passing scores (85%) as applicable
