Job Description

  • Must have acute care experience.
  • Case Management role.
  • Free parking on the first day; assignment parking provided during orientation.
  • Facility offers assistance with housing, including realtor support if needed.

Required Certifications

  • ACLS (AHA Instructor, Provider, or RQI or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation)
  • BLS (AHA Instructor, Provider, or RQI or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation)
  • PALS (AHA Instructor, Provider, or RQI or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) - current certification required
  • Chemotherapy certification (if applicable)
  • Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) certification (AWHONN or NCC-EFM) if required by unit
  • IV Certification (LVN/LPN/Other) if applicable
  • Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) if applicable
  • NIH Stroke Certification (renew every 2 years) if applicable
  • CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) if applicable
  • State License (valid and current)
  • NURSYS Verification for RNs
  • Other certifications as required by clinical track or unit

Required Documents & Background Checks

  • I9 Attestation
  • Government-issued Photo ID (Driver’s License/State ID)
  • Social Security Card (for Washington state OBRA search if applicable)
  • E-Verify Attestation
  • Background Check within 45 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years, updated annually
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM check within 30 days of start, updated monthly
  • HHS/OIG check within 30 days of start, updated monthly
  • Education Verification (3rd party) for all candidates
  • State-specific searches as required (e.g., Washington WSP/WATCH, OBRA Registry for CNAs)
  • Physical Exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
  • Drug Testing: 10 Panel Drug Screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
  • Immunizations and Health Documents:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years or declination)
    • Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray within 12 months, updated annually
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer or declination
    • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
    • Varicella vaccination or positive titer or declination
    • Flu Vaccine during flu season or declination
    • COVID-19 Vaccine or declination
  • Fit Mask test (N95 or equivalent) required for travel candidates, updated annually
  • Respirator Safety Clearance (RespSafety) for travel candidates, updated annually

Competencies & Training

  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam as applicable
  • Competency Exams as required by specialty
  • Color Blind Testing if required by unit
  • Skills Checklist updated annually for applicable units
  • WorkRamp Modules (online training) required prior to start and annually:
    • Core Modules for RN/LVN in California
    • Specialty-specific modules depending on unit and region
    • Regional Core and Specialty Modules for travel and per diem staff
  • Epic Training Modules required (completion or transcript submission)

Additional Requirements

  • References: Minimum 2 supervisor references covering 1 year of employment within last 3 years (6 months for CNAs)
  • Employment Application covering at least last 5 years (7 years for APN/Subcontractors)
  • Floating Policy Acknowledgement (may be required to float to other Providence facilities)

  • First-time travelers accepted with clinical approval.
  • Facility supports housing needs and offers free parking on the first day.
  • Candidate may be required to float between like units.
  • All certifications and background checks must be current and compliant with Providence Health and Services policies.
  • Compliance with all health and safety requirements including immunizations, drug screening, and respirator clearance is mandatory.
