Job Description

  • 13-week contract position
  • Unit types include general pediatrics, hematology/oncology, orthopedics, and surgical
  • Must have chemotherapy/oncology experience
  • Will float to PICU and NICU as needed; additional float units possible based on skill set and hospital needs
  • Every other weekend shift (Saturday/Sunday)
  • Patient ratio approximately 1:5
  • Charting system: EPIC
  • Scrub color: Navy
  • First-time travelers are accepted

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Minimum 1.5 years of pediatrics experience
  • Pediatrics experience within the last year
  • Registered Nurse license valid in New Jersey
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association
  • CPR certification
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association
  • IV Certification

Pros

Unit is traveler friendly. Multiple RNs to a room for day shift. Must be a strong, well rounded circulator cases vary greatly. If you're in the room you most likely are the senior nurse.

Cons

If you hate precepting, this is not the place for you.
