Registered Nurse - CVICU (Fort Lauderdale, FL)

Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each; 19:00 - 7:30)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Work in a Cardiac/Vascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) with open heart/cardiac-specific patients.
• Patient ratio: 2:1.
• Float and holiday shifts as needed.
• Must have experience with acute and chronically ill critical care patients.
• Must have Epic electronic health record experience.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Florida (Compact license accepted).
• Minimum 3 years of CVICU nursing experience, with at least some experience within the last year.
• ACLS certification.
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system.

• Completion of multiple online orientation and compliance modules including but not limited to:

  • Clinical/Online Orientation
  • Annual Risk Management
  • General Compliance & Ethics
  • Code of Conduct
  • Emergency Management
  • Preventing & Reporting Workplace Harassment
  • ICU Medical modules related to medication administration and equipment
  • Stroke and Stroke Core Measures Review
  • End of Life Care
  • Procedural Sedation (Adults and Pediatrics)
  • Safe Injection Practices (if applicable)
  • HIPAA Privacy Training
  • Blood Administration & Anticoagulant Therapy
  • Additional nursing-specific modules related to patient safety, hazardous drugs, dysphagia precautions, and more.

Note: Certificates of completion must be saved and submitted as required, with various expiration periods (1-3 years depending on module).

This position requires a highly skilled critical care nurse with cardiac ICU experience, strong clinical competencies, and compliance with Florida state healthcare regulations.
