Job Opportunity: Operating Room Registered Nurse
Location: Albuquerque, New Mexico
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: Day shift, 4 shifts per week, 10 hours each (6:30 AM – 5:00 PM)
- Call Requirement: 4-5 call shifts every 6 weeks (12-hour shifts, including weekends)
- Float required within the facility
- Specialty: Operating Room nursing
Required Experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience in nursing preferred
- Previous travel nursing experience preferred
Required Certifications & Licenses
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in New Mexico
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) as applicable
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) as applicable
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) as applicable
- Chemotherapy certification as applicable
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) as applicable
- Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification as applicable
- Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) as applicable
- NIH Stroke Certification as applicable (expires annually)
Required Documentation & Compliance
- Valid Driver’s License or State ID
- E-Verify compliance (internal requirement)
- 7-year background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
- Education verification of highest level completed
- Fingerprinting completed onsite during orientation (New Mexico placements only)
- Photo for badge (clear headshot)
- Employment application and resume
- 7-year work history verification
- Unit-specific skills checklist (annual)
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start
- Physical exam within 12 months of start
- Fit mask test within 1 year of start, renewed annually (fit test done onsite)
- Immunizations and titers:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: positive titer or 2 vaccines required
- Hepatitis B: positive titer, series, or declination accepted
- Varicella: positive titer, 2 vaccines, or physician-documented history required
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 – Mar 31)
- Flu exemption attestation if applicable
Additional Requirements
- Completion of medication/pharmacology competency exam as applicable (minimum 80% score)
- Color blindness test (online version acceptable)
- Core HIPAA and safety training acknowledgment
- Compliance with facility-specific forms such as fingerprint consent and employee vehicle registration (prior to start)
