Behavioral Health LVN / LPN - Travel/Contract

Location: Sacramento, California
Shift: Night (5 shifts per week, 8 hours each, 11:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Work with adult inpatient psychiatric patients presenting diagnoses such as ADHD, Bipolar Disorder, Autism Spectrum, Eating Disorder, PTSD, Anxiety Disorder, Depression, Major Depressive Disorder, Psychotic Disorder, and Oppositional Defiant Disorder.
• Patient population may include individuals with substance abuse disorders, alcohol or opiate withdrawal (usually stable on admission), hypertension, diabetes, geriatric patients at high fall risk, patients in pain, and occasionally patients with wounds.
• Use electronic patient rounding tools and Rover system for documentation (pictures, vital signs, food intake).
• Utilize ObservSmart equipment for patient monitoring.
• Recent inpatient psychiatric experience is preferred.

Required Qualifications

• Valid LPN / LVN license in California.
• Minimum of 1 year of LPN / LVN experience, with experience within the last year preferred.
• Current BLS certification.
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification.
• Certification in Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB), Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI), MOAB, Handle with Care, or ProAct.
• Behavioral Health experience.

Experience

• Recent inpatient psychiatric experience preferred.
• No explicit minimum years of experience stated; preference for candidates with relevant behavioral health experience.
• Prior travel experience is not required.

Additional Information

• No Return to Office (RTO) accepted for this position.
• Candidate must review and sign facility-specific documents including job description, standards of business conduct, code of conduct, vendor training, overpayment refund policy, and regulatory orientation prior to start.
• Religious exemptions for facial hair (PAPR) and certain vaccines may be requested and require approval.
• Candidates with color vision deficiency must have in-person documented exam by a licensed healthcare provider prior to start.
• ICU & MS/Telemetry RNs at certain locations may require additional competency exams and EKG testing (not applicable for this LVN/LPN role).

Patient Care Environment

• Adult psychiatric inpatient unit with diverse behavioral health diagnoses.
• Use of technology for patient monitoring and documentation.
• Night shift with 40 hours per week, 5 nights of 8 hours each.
