Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool

Job Overview

Travel/contract RN position in Charlottesville, Virginia
13-week assignment
Day shift
36 or 48 hours per week
Every other weekend and every other holiday
Block scheduling cannot be accommodated or guaranteed

Unit / Setting

Pediatric float pool covering PICU, NICU, pediatric med-surg, pediatric PACU, pediatric ED boarders, and postpartum/mother-baby
Must be comfortable working with pediatric patients

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Virginia
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Critical Care Float (2 years of experience)
Critical Care Float experience within the last year
ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Red Cross or American Heart Association
BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support issued by American Red Cross or American Heart Association
NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure
Infant-Driven Feeding™ Advancing Oral Feeding Practice in the NICU
Experience working with NICU or PICU patients
PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care experience
Float experience
Experience with Epic

Preferred Qualifications

Pediatric PACU experience
Previous NICU/PICU float pool experience

Additional Requirement

Infant-Driven Feeding certification is required, but candidates may submit with it pending; there is a stated cost for the course

Scheduling / Time Off

Up to 40 hours of time off can be approved
No time off can be approved during the first 2 weeks of the assignment

ICU is 1-2 patients, they float you to med surg and stepdown with a 3 patient max. Overall a good contract

Cons

Never had a tech on the floor. Some units are very nice and some are mean
