Registered Nurse (Med/Tele - K3)

Location: Lufkin, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit & Patient Population

18 beds with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6
Patient diagnoses commonly include congestive heart failure (CHF), diabetes, pneumonia (PNA), chronic kidney disease (CKD), and medical/surgical telemetry patients
Patients may require CPAP, BiPAP, and high flow oxygen support

Work Schedule & Environment

12-hour day shifts
Approximately 36 hours per week
Scheduling managed by leadership; block scheduling not guaranteed
Every other weekend and holidays required
Floating to all medical/surgical units expected
Dress code: Navy blue scrubs

Staffing & Support

Telemetry monitor technicians monitor patients, but RNs must be able to read cardiac strips
Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) present with a ratio of 1:12
Charge Nurses, House Supervisors, and Nurse Educators available for support
Department orientation provided specific to the med/surg telemetry unit

Required Qualifications

Current RN license
BLS certification (American Heart Association)
Strong communication and time management skills
