ICU - Float to MS Tele and ED Holds

Overview

• Role: RN (Registered Nurse)
• Location: Glendale, Arizona
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour days
• Hours per week: 36

Unit Details

• Unit: ICU/MOSU (Multi-Operational Service Unit)
• Bed count: 5 beds
• Floating: May float to MedSurg, MICU, and to work MS Tele / ED Holds as needed
• Patient mix: ICU and non-ICU patients may be cared for on this unit
• Ratios: 1:2 for ICU patients; 1:3 for MedSurg patients; 1:4 if no ICU patients

Required Qualifications

• Active Arizona RN license
• BLS
• ACLS
• 2 years of ICU experience
• Must be proficient with vasoactive drips
• Must have strong general Medical & Surgical ICU experience
• Must be independent and able to work with limited support
• Must be comfortable working in tele and non-ICU settings as part of the assignment

Preferred

• Positive attitude
• Strong teamwork

Clinical Expectations

• Interpreting EKGs
• Vent management and vent weaning per protocol
• Common critical care procedures include bronchs, CL insertion, intubations, thoracentesis, paracentesis, pericardiocentesis, femoral art line insertions, CT pigtail and large bore, LP, and temporary/venous hemodialysis catheter placement

Schedule / Unit Requirements

• 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
• Holidays based on unit coverage
• 2 shifts of floor-specific orientation

Additional Notes

• SIMs Lab is pass/fail
• Travelers must have their own vehicle
• No local rate within 50 miles
• Natural hair color and no facial piercings
• Men must be clean shaven
