Contract Length

13 weeks

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Illinois
Stepdown experience within the last year
1 year of stepdown experience
ACLS issued by American Heart Association
BLS issued by American Heart Association
NIHSS
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Experience with tracheostomy care
Experience with BiPAP
Experience with neuro checks
Experience with titratable drips
Experience with cardiac drips
Experience with IV insertion skills

Unit Details

IMCU - 3S Intermediate Care
23 beds
Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:3-4
Common patient types include stroke, cardiac, sepsis, and surgical

Schedule

12-hour shifts: 7a-7:30p and 7p-7:30a
Weekend rotation based on unit needs
Every other holiday

Float Scope

Expected to float throughout the house except ER and OB

Additional Information

Charge nurse is on duty 24/7 and ideally does not take patients, but may when necessary
CNAs are utilized on the unit
CPAP, BiPAP, and high flow are used on the unit
Nurses interpret telemetry strips
No call or standby requirement
1-2 shifts of unit-specific orientation
Professional scrubs in any color; scrubs are not provided
