Neuro Tele - 5NNB Nurse Opportunity
Location: Phoenix, Arizona
Unit: Neuro Tele (5NNB and 7NNB)
Unit Size: 32 beds
Hospital Size: 607 beds, Level 1 Trauma, Teaching Hospital
Contract Length: 13 weeks (minimum contract length)
Job Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of core nursing experience in specialty submitted
- Level 1 Trauma experience required
- Previous travel experience required for ED, Neuro ICU
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS required
- EMR: Cerner experience required (including use of WOW devices)
- Additional Requirements:
- Must pass Prophecy Dysrhythmia Exam within 24-48 hours prior to acceptance (max 2 attempts)
- Must pass Day 1 pass/fail SIMs Lab (skills include Foley catheter insertion, central line dressing changes, lifts, restraints, wound care)
- Must be able to titrate drips including Amiodarone, Cardizem, and Insulin
- No facial piercings and only natural hair colors allowed
- Men must be clean-shaven for fit testing
- Must have own vehicle if part of a travel team
- Cannot hold concurrent contracts with this employer
- Must have been off permanent staff at this hospital system for 12 months to qualify for travel assignment
Work Environment & Unit Details
- Shift: 12-hour shifts, 7am to 7pm or 7pm to 7am
- Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:4
- Charge Nurse: Yes, with light patient assignment
- Nurse Aides: Day shift - 4 aides; Night shift - 3 aides (assist with BS, VS, straight cath)
- Weekend Requirement: 4 weekend shifts every 8 weeks
- Holiday Coverage: Integrated into permanent holiday rotation
- Scrub Color: Steel gray
- Telemetry: Central monitoring; must be able to interpret EKGs
- Ventilators: None on this unit
- Support Services:
- Respiratory Therapy available 24/7
- Pharmacy available 24/7 (centralized)
- IV Team (SWAT RN) available for difficult IV sticks
- Floating: Float to telemetry units and telemetry overflow in ICU
- Orientation: 2 days floor-specific orientation

Additional Notes
- Fast-paced, high turnover unit with average length of stay 4-5 days
- Bedside report expected
- Must maintain sterile technique during procedures (SIMs Lab pass/fail)
- Facility enforces strict onboarding deadlines; all documentation must be complete before start date
- No local rate; 50-mile radius rule applies
