Sleep Study Technician (Nights)

Location: Albany, Oregon
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights (6:30 PM - 7:00 AM) every weekend
Hours per Week: 40


Job Summary

  • Perform patient set-ups for overnight sleep testing.
  • Record overnight polysomnographic (PSG) and video recordings of patients' sleep activity for diagnostic evaluation.
  • Administer sleep medications according to policy.
  • Communicate and coordinate activities with Sleep Lab supervisor.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Polysomnographer license in Oregon.
  • Minimum 1 year of polysomnographer experience, including experience within the last year.
  • Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) credential through the BRPT.
  • Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Experience as a Respiratory Therapist.

Additional Information

  • The role is based in a sleep center that provides diagnostic tests for sleep disturbances and neurological-related disorders.

Cons

Schedule was atrocious especially night shift. Significant amount of floating to the ER as helping hands or a sitter.
