Job Opportunity: Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (Hospital Acute)
Location: Frederick, Maryland
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
Join a large multidisciplinary team of approximately 40 clinicians in a fast-paced hospital environment. You will treat a variety of diagnoses including orthopedics, neurological, behavioral health, and critical care caseloads.
Focus areas include:
- Morning Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)
- One-on-one treatment
- Facilitating group treatment
Required Qualifications
- Degree from an ACOTE-accredited school
- Current Maryland state licensure or eligibility in Occupational Therapy
- Minimum 1 year of hospital acute care experience (highest required experience)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
- Strong documentation skills in an EMR system (preferably hospital-based)
- Experience running Occupational Therapy groups is a plus
- Strong skills in flexibility, time management, and communication
Responsibilities
- Deliver quality occupational therapy services according to treatment plans
- Document patient care accurately and timely using web-based EMR software
- Meet clinical, departmental, and regulatory expectations (productivity standards 65%-75%, 21-24 billable units/day)
- Conduct patient and family education, and collaborate with hospital staff including physicians and nursing teams
- Promote teamwork and communication in a positive work environment
