Travel RN Opportunity - Hickory, North Carolina

Position Details

• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: 4 shifts per week, 10 hours each
• Patient Volume: Average 5-15 cases per day

Facility Overview

• 355-bed acute hospital with multiple specialty centers including Brain, Cancer, Heart, Lung, Orthopedics, General & Vascular Surgery, Surgical Weight Loss, Women’s Center, and Level 3 NICU.
• Includes a 32-bed Emergency Department, 29-bed inpatient rehab, 15-bed surgical suite & imaging.
• Behavioral Health Hospital with 81 adult beds on a separate campus.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform plan of care interventions including medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments.
• Document patient care and monitor patient condition, communicating with care team, physicians, patients, and families.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living such as hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Collaborate across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharge planning, referrals, and psychosocial support.
• Evaluate and provide patient and family education tailored to age, culture, and condition.
• Advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of patients.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Current RN license in the state of North Carolina.
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications required within six months of hire.
• At least 2 years of experience in nursing specialty required (higher of stated requirements).
• Advanced Stroke Life Support (ASLS) certification preferred.
