RN - Endoscopy

Job Overview

• Location: Richmond, Virginia
• Employment type: Travel
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Hours per week: 36
• Schedule: 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday, based on assignment
• Unit: Endoscopy
• Floating: May float to the ASC and other surrounding facilities as needed

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Virginia
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Endoscopy experience within the last year
• 2 years of experience in Endoscopy
• ACLS
• BLS

Clinical Skills / Unit Experience

• Circulating and tech support in endoscopy
• Advanced skills needed: ERCP, EUS, robotic bronchoscopy, EBUS
• Procedures performed on the unit include colonoscopy, EGD, Pill Cam, Bravos, ERCP, EUS, EBUS, ION, and bronchoscopy

Work Environment

• 2 endoscopy suites
• Typical staffing includes 1 circulator and 1 tech in the room, with a designated scope washer for the shift
• Patient ratios:

  • 1:1 for circulator
  • Up to 2 patients for PACU
  • Pre-op is 1:1 during questioning, but may be up to 1:3 while waiting
• Equipment includes Olympus scopes, OER elite washer, and ION robot
• Documentation systems used: Meditech Expanse and Provation

Additional Notes

• Hospital-issued scrubs required
• Huddle is held before the start of the day
