Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in North Carolina
- PCU - Progressive Care Unit (2 years of experience)
- PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
- ACLS
- BLS
- NIHSS
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Experience working with Neuro patients
- Neuro Trauma experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Neuro and Trauma Care experience
Unit Details
- Staffed with 95 total staff
- Day shift staffing: 2 CNC/Charge, 11 RNs, 4 CNA, 1 HUC
- Night shift staffing: 2 CNC/Charge, 11 RNs, 4 CNA, 1 HUC
- Patient ratio: 4:1 at grid, 5:1 stretched
- Equipment includes IV pumps, Skylift, PCA pump, chest tube, trachs, and patient lifts
- EMR: Cerner
Common Procedures / Care
- Neuro and spinal checks
- C-Collar placement and TLSO braces
- Chest tube care, PCA pump, and IV infusions
- Lumber drain
- Feeding tube placement
- Blood transfusion
Floating
- Stepdown units
- Med-surg units
Schedule
- Every other weekend
