Registered Nurse - Bone Marrow Transplant (Travel Contract)
Location: Austin, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Days, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Hours per Week: 36
Call Requirements: None
Weekend Schedule: Rotating 7:30 AM – Noon on Saturday and Sunday
Unit Overview
- Specialty: Transplant and Cellular Therapy / Oncology (Outpatient Clinic)
- Unit Type: Bone Marrow Transplant Outpatient Clinic
- Number of Beds: 15 clinic rooms/curtains
- Patient Ratios: 6-8 patients per day
- Staff Composition (Day Shift): Charge nurse, 5 RNs, 1 Patient Care Technician, 1 Scheduler, 1 Social Worker, 4 Apheresis staff
- Night Shift: None
- Equipment Used: Infusion pumps
- Electronic Medical Record System: Meditech
- Dress Code: Navy scrubs (top and bottoms)
Typical Procedures
- Chemotherapy and immunotherapy infusions
- IVIG infusions
- Blood product transfusions including PRBCs, platelets, plasma
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
- Minimum 1 year of Bone Marrow Transplant nursing experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
