Registered Nurse (ICU) - Travel Position

Location: Lake Havasu City, Arizona
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Weekly Hours: 36 hours guaranteed
Number of Openings: 1


Unit and Patient Population

  • Unit: ICU/CVICU (Blended ICU)
  • Trauma Level: III
  • Number of Beds: 16
  • Patient Ratio: 1:2
  • Patient Population: Adult and Geriatric
  • Equipment: Baxter pumps
  • Electronic Health Record (EHR): Medhost
  • Float Requirements: Intermediate Care Unit (primary RN), ED holding (as needed)

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Arizona
  • Minimum 2 years of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) nursing experience, including experience within the last year
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
  • Experience as primary RN in Intermediate Care Unit (float requirement)
  • Experience in ED holding for admitted patients (float requirement)

Clinical Experience and Skills

  • Experience with common diagnoses and treatments including:
    • STEMI, NSTEMI
    • COPD exacerbation
    • Sepsis
    • CABG, Valve repair/replacement
    • Acute Respiratory Failure
    • Atrial Fibrillation with Rapid Ventricular Response (A. Fib RVR)
    • Alcohol Withdrawal
    • Head Injury
    • Overdose
    • Stroke
    • Trauma
    • Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT)
    • Transcarotid Artery Revascularization (TCAR) & Transcatheter Valve Replacement (TVAR)
  • CVICU experience is a plus but not required

Work Environment and Policies

  • Attendance: One call-out allowed per contract; second call-out requires documentation and is reviewed case-by-case
  • No block schedule requests; 48-hour shifts may be considered but are not guaranteed
  • Shift preference flexibility should be indicated (day, night, or both)
