Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Burlingame, California
Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Details

  • Unit: ICU Float position requiring floating to ICU, SDICU, Telemetry, and Med Surg inpatient units
  • Shift: 3 shifts per week, 12-hour night shifts (1900-0700), every other weekend
  • On-call: No on-call requirement

Requirements

  • Licensure & Certifications:
    • California RN License
    • BLS (AHA or ARC)
    • ACLS (AHA or ARC)
    • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification
  • Experience: Minimum 4 years of RN experience
  • Skills: Ability to float across ICU, SDICU, Telemetry, and Med Surg units

Background Checks & Compliance

  • 7-year background check including SSN trace with all aliases, county searches, sex offender search, education verification, and FACIS Level 3 screening
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required and updated annually
  • Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months (excluding marijuana/cannabinoids due to CA law)
  • Employment history verification covering 7 years with no gaps over 30 days
  • References: 2 professional references required (Aya requirement, not client)

Certifications & Competencies

  • ACLS, BLS, NIHSS certification required
  • Additional certifications may be position-dependent (e.g., CCRN, TNCC, PALS, NRP)
  • Medication/Pharmacology competency exams as applicable
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG competency may be required for some units
  • ICU RNs may be required to take an EKG exam onsite after start

Health & Immunization Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start (must clear for work)
  • Fit mask test within 1 year, renewed annually (specific mask types required)
  • Immunizations and/or titers required:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 90 days, renewed annually
    • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (MMR) immunity or vaccination
    • Hepatitis B series or declination
    • Varicella immunity or vaccination
    • Seasonal flu vaccination during flu season (Nov-April) or signed declination
  • Drug testing: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months (excluding marijuana/cannabinoids)
